Here are some details about Engage that will smooth your use of the Voyado Engage Shopify app.
Contact types
Engages uses the term "contact type" as a way of grouping contacts that behaves in different ways. This integration uses two contact types to create a generic solution that works for both Shopify and Engage.

Contact type: Member
The contact type Member in Engage is the most central contact type. A member can receive loyalty in form of points and vouchers and membr levels. This should be your ultimate goal as your customers receive more benefits and you can collect more data on them.
Shopify will use contact type Member for all account holders online.
Contact type: Contact
The contact type Contact in Voyado is normally used for contacts who are handled differently from your members. The most common usecase is when a new contact signs up for a newsletter without signing up for membership or creating an account online.
Shopify will use contact type Contact for guest purchases online and newsletter registrations.
Consents
If a customer already has an account, Shopify will set a consent in Engage with the key hasShopifyAccount set to “true”.
Stores / Markets in Engage
It is possible to use multiple markets in Voyado and Shopify. Shopify will set the market id in Engage based on the configuration that needs to be done in the app. This is configurable by the client.
